It’s Time to Turn Over the Tables in the Temple

The Catholic Church teaches us to be stewards of truth, justice, and integrity. Yet, in the United States, we see a government riddled with corruption, unchecked spending, and outright moral decay. It is beyond belief that Democrats—many of whom profess the Catholic faith—would continue to support a government that blatantly disregards accountability and justice. This behavior is not only unacceptable but runs contrary to the very essence of Catholic teaching.

Government institutions have gone wild with spending, operating without any meaningful checks and balances. Politicians and their cronies grow wealthy off the backs of hardworking Americans while ignoring their sacred duty to serve the people. Even worse, some of these corrupt leaders have remained in power for decades, building dynasties of greed and exploitation. Where is the outcry? Where is the accountability? Catholics in Democratic states who continue to support such governance must understand their complicity in this corruption. Silence is consent, and inaction allows evil to thrive.

It is time to turn over the tables in the temple, just as Christ did when He saw the corruption and greed in His Father’s house. We cannot allow our nation to serve money and power over God. As Catholics, we are called to speak out against injustice and demand that our leaders, regardless of political party, adhere to the rule of law and uphold the values of integrity and truth.

The Ten Commandments serve as the foundation of moral law: “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods,” “Honor your father and mother,” and above all, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Yet, what we see today in American politics is a rejection of these principles. Money and power have become false idols. Corruption, greed, and dishonesty are now the standard operating procedures. This is evil in its purest form.

Catholics must re-educate themselves and recognize their responsibility to act. Supporting leaders who violate the moral law and misuse the resources entrusted to them is not only irresponsible—it is sinful. As a Christian nation, we are called to restore integrity to our government and demand accountability from our leaders. It is time to reject partisan loyalties and instead vote for what is right, just, and true.

Catholics, Democrats, Republicans—this is not about political affiliation. It is about morality. It is about upholding God’s law and ensuring that our government reflects the principles of justice and righteousness. Now is the time to act. Now is the time to demand change. Now is the time to turn over the tables in the temple.

  1. As a new Catholic, Having joined the church because of the Magisterium and Pope Benedict’s writings, I had wondered why the Pelosi family was welcomed at the Vatican, as was Biden, while advocating abortion even up to 9 months. The Eucharist, the body of Christ was offered to persons responsible for the deaths of thousands if not millions of children.
While Bishop Strickland was removed from his Diocese in Tyler Texas for continuing to perform the Latin Mass.
I pray our new Pope Leo will address this sadness I feel that our church has bowed to money and power.

    1. I have wondered that same thing Joyce… why would the Church hierarchy ‘welcome’ politicians like Pelosi and Biden that using their Catholic faith for votes all the while they advocate for issues directly in opposition to Church teaching.

Bishop Strickland was a warrior for our Catholic faith and he was removed, why? I also pray the our new Pope Leo will rectify some of what seems to me as miscarriages of justice. God bless our beloved Church.
