The United States was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, enshrining natural law, personal liberty, and limited government. The Founders sought to create a nation where God-given rights were protected from government overreach, drawing on biblical wisdom and centuries of legal tradition. However, over the past two centuries, America has drifted far from these roots—politically, economically, and morally—leading to increasing federal overreach, judicial abuse, and economic centralization that contradicts the ideals of the Freehold Economy and self-reliance.
America’s Biblical Foundation: A Nation Under God
America’s founding documents—the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution—affirm that our rights come not from government, but from God. The Declaration of Independence boldly declares that all men are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.” This is a direct affirmation of the biblical belief that human dignity and freedom come from God alone, not from rulers, kings, or governments.
The Liberty Bell, one of the most enduring symbols of American freedom, bears an inscription from Leviticus 25:10: “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof.”
This biblical command was central to the Founders’ vision of justice, righteousness, and moral law guiding the nation.
Many of the Founders, including John Adams, warned that the Republic could only survive if its people remained moral and religious: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Yet today, America has strayed far from this foundation.
The Left’s War Against God: The Rejection of Morality and Faith
Modern secularism, led by leftist ideology, has driven a radical departure from Christianity. This movement does not merely seek neutrality toward religion—it actively opposes Christian values while promoting moral relativism, government dependency, and radical social agendas.
- The Removal of God from Public Life – The systematic elimination of Christian influence began with Engel v. Vitale (1962), which banned school prayer, followed by decades of Supreme Court rulings that eroded religious expression in public spaces. God was pushed out, and moral decay took His place.
- The Destruction of the Family – The rise of radical feminism, LGBTQ+ ideology, and anti-family policies has led to record levels of divorce, fatherlessness, and moral confusion. Instead of strong, biblical families, America now faces a crisis of broken homes, identity confusion, and generational dysfunction.
- Abortion: The Slaughter of the Innocent – The left champions abortion as a “right,” even celebrating it as a moral good. The legalization of Roe v. Wade (1973) ushered in a culture of death, discarding the biblical principle that life is sacred. The Bible is clear: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” (Jeremiah 1:5)
- The Idolization of Money and Power – The left claims to fight for “justice,” yet they worship money and power. Scripture warns against this: “For the love of money is the root of all evil.” (1 Timothy 6:10)
Money itself is not evil, but the obsession with wealth, greed, and power has corrupted modern leaders. Instead of promoting virtue and service, politicians and elites push corporate cronyism, financial control, and digital tracking to enslave people economically.
The Weaponization of the Judicial System
America’s judicial system, once a pillar of justice and impartiality, has become a tool of political persecution. Federal agencies such as the FBI and DOJ have been accused of targeting political opponents while protecting corrupt elites.
One glaring example is the disparate treatment of political figures. While some face relentless prosecution over minor infractions, others—even with overwhelming evidence of corruption—go untouched. The rise of judicial activism has turned courts into leftist legislative bodies, rewriting laws instead of enforcing the Constitution.
The Erosion of Economic Freedom: The Death of the Freehold Economy
The Freehold Economy, rooted in land ownership and self-reliance, was a cornerstone of America’s founding. The Founders envisioned a nation of landowners, farmers, and tradesmen who were free from government dependence. Today, however:
- Government regulations, taxation, and inflation make self-sufficiency nearly impossible.
- The Federal Reserve has devalued the dollar, eroding savings and making home ownership unattainable.
- Big Tech and financial elites push for centralized digital currencies, threatening personal economic sovereignty.
Instead of fostering economic freedom, modern leaders push socialist policies that trap people in dependence, taxation, and financial control.
Can America Return to Its Christian Roots?
The question remains: Can America reclaim the principles that made it great? Some movements—such as the Freehold Economy initiative, faith-based communities, and constitutional revival efforts—seek to restore biblical values, economic independence, and moral responsibility.
The Liberty Bell’s inscription remains a timeless reminder of what America was meant to be—a land where liberty is proclaimed to all. But today, that message is drowned out by government overreach, judicial activism, moral collapse, and economic slavery.
America must return to God, or risk losing everything. The fate of the nation hinges on whether its people stand for truth, faith, and freedom—or continue down the path of secularism, corruption, and tyranny.
