Charlie Kirk’s assassination on September 10, 2025, was more than a tragic loss, it was a direct strike against a man who devoted his life to calling America back to God. He was gunned down in cold blood while speaking to students at Utah Valley University. He died doing what he always did: telling the truth, fighting for what is right, and refusing to back down.
Charlie Kirk wasn’t just a commentator. He wasn’t just a political activist. He was a soldier for Christ in a culture that has declared war on faith, family, and freedom.
A Fighter From Day One
At 18, Charlie founded Turning Point USA and never looked back. He built a movement that gave conservative young people a voice, a megaphone, in classrooms and campuses that told them to sit down and be quiet.
And he didn’t stop there. With Turning Point Faith, Charlie rallied pastors and churches, preaching the message that Christians cannot stay silent. He embraced the call to shape every sphere of society, politics, business, media, education — with biblical truth.
Charlie said what so many are too afraid to say: there is no real separation of church and state, not when the state is trying to erase God.
Faith and Family: His True North
Charlie’s fiercest devotion wasn’t to politics, it was to his faith and his family. He married Erika Frantzve in 2021, a woman who shared his mission and built ministries of her own. Together they brought two beautiful children into the world and fought to give them a country that still believes in freedom and faith.
Even at the height of his influence, Charlie never hid his belief that America’s only hope was a spiritual revival. He said it, he lived it, and, in the end, he died for it.
Martyrdom in Our Time?
We must ask the hard question: was Charlie Kirk killed simply because he was a public figure, or because he was public enemy number one to a culture that hates the Gospel he preached?
Martyrdom is not just about dying; it’s about dying because you refuse to betray the truth. If that is what happened in Utah, then Charlie Kirk may very well be remembered as one of the first martyrs of a new era.
Should He Be Canonized?
Canonization is rare, and it is sacred. But should we not at least ask whether a man who lived and died fighting for biblical truth deserves that consideration? Charlie’s life pointed countless young people toward God, emboldened churches, and defended the unborn. His blood, shed while proclaiming truth, may inspire generations.
History remembers martyrs not because they were perfect, but because they were willing to die for what was right. Charlie Kirk did exactly that.

My soul is moved by the mission Charlie proclaimed. In my lifetime I have not seen nor heard publicly any who have proclaimed the word of God as he, and no other who stood solid on the ground of Gods word, as he. May Gods mercy be upon him as Jesus holds him forever and forever in our hearts.
I felt he spent way too much time debating politics when he should have been evangelizing more. So I don’t consider him a martyr but a victim of political assassination.
He didn’t proclaim the word of God that much, he spent most of his time arguing politics.
So what you’re basically saying is that because he declared a mission to bring people to God, its ok that he wrecked havoc in everyone else’s lives who aren’t what he thinks they should be? They can’t be politically progressive, feminist, Jewish against guns and a whole list of things that is within their rights. This man is an Evangelical Trump loving person whose Godliness is not determined by the Sermon on the Mount and he is not worthy of canonization. The thought that there is poll for this and that the poll will determine his eligibilty only goes to show, how Christianity has strayed from its original intent and people recognize this. If Christians do not stand firm on the words of Christ, what exactly are they?
He didn’t wreck havoc on other peoples lives, the people who live a perverted fanticy in there own minds of what they are genetically have caused their own problems.
If God created you a man than your a man, if God created you a woman than your a woman. The problem is in our own perversion
We are trying to play our own Gods and trying to manipulate Gods chosen Gender. Its not biblical. So how’s Charlie Kirk so wrong for pointing out the truth? The problem is people have pushed God out of the equation.
I’m not trying to judge as I have my own faults I have to answer for, but the truth is the truth and people don’t want to hear the truth. Because it cuts across the grain and makes them uneasy in there own skin…then comes the slander, name calling, and lies against the truth Bearer.
I’m Jewish and I think he should be considered for sainthood (although I believe he needs a few posthumous miracles associated with him first.) Whatever else he believed, above all, he believed in dialogue and debate so thoroughly that he lived and died for it. He would make a great patron saint of free speech and debate.
Just because you did not agree with him does that mean he wasn’t right. and I know I’m not sure what you’re listening to but everything he said was backed by his belief in Jesus Christ. I seriously hope that the pope does make him a modern day saint.
I agree wholeheartedly with your remarks. The hate he spewed regarding women and Blacks was so unchristian as to make the thought of canonization laughable.
As a Christian I find the suggestion of canonization by the church embarrassing.
He didn’t “wreck” anyone’s life. He may have pointed out how their lives were not aligned with Christ but that is not wrecking their life.
Thank you for this comment!
Christian nationalism is NOT Christianity.
This article, poll and topic are very upsetting. This man’s views go against the views of the Pope. He did not follow or preach how Jesus lived nor taught. His rhetoric was divisive. He preformed no miracle only stoked the fires of hate. His murder is horrendous and sad, but no less than the children slain at their school. How can a Catholic magazine even think of this at a time it should be sending out messages to console, on a day of National mourning, no less? The author should be ashamed and this should be removed. His did not spread the love of Christ, he spewed hate, distrust and separatism when our faith is Catholic meaning Universal and in that global faith white American members are vastly the minority to all other American Catholics from Canada to the bottom top of Chile. He meets not one requirement for canonization.
Agreed. Wholeheartedly.
So disturbing to see this carried on this website this morning.
Ah Mariah,
What part of a great patriot, a young husband with young children, who preaches fearlessly about God, Family and Country, bothers you so deeply? How is it “disturbing” to you to see an article praising the life of this young fire-brand? Scroll to my response to Colleen and that response is for you too.
Is it his stance on Abortion that triggered you? That no woman should EVER kill a child not even in the case of rape? Was it his strong stance on the horrific practice of trying to turn young girls into boys and vice versa that triggered you? Since that is not actually possible… Or his stance on the LGBTQ+ community where THEIR views are EXPECTED to be our views too? These very actions weaken our society. Rome fell only once they lost their discipline, virtue and valor. They became soft and depraved. When that happened the fall of Rome was complete. The greatest civilization in the world fell because they became undisciplined and depraved. We are headed that way and are actually quite deep in that muck right now.
Pray for your America every day. Pray before you start to tear apart the virtuous lives of those who gave all they had to try to save her. Charlie and others like him are carrying you now, until you wake up and can walk on your own in virtue and your calling.
May God give you clarity of thought, empathy and compassion.
Amen
Thank you! Granted, he was a very bad man, a political opportunist who espoused anti-Catholic, anti-American (or what should be American) and unholy stances, but he at least engaged in dialogue and did not deserve to be murdered.
Charles,
I am wondering what are the grounds for labeling a fellow American as “a very bad man?” He had great respect for the Catholic Church, he was seeing a mass movement of young men INTO the Catholic Church and marveled about it on more than one interview. If he had had a little more time, who knows? His best friend Candace Owens had converted to Catholicism so it was on his radar.
You claim he was anti-American. HOW? He turned the hearts of THOUSANDS of wildly liberal students back to God, family and country. The transformation of these institutions was amazing, even surprising Charlie himself. God was in control and Charlie knew it. He was an instrument in the hand of God.
I’m very glad you, at least, after slandering his life’s work and successes, at least state he did not deserve to be murdered. NO ONE EVER does, that is a given to most Americans, but that is at least a glimmer of humanity still residing in your heart. May God guide you and give you discernment and the grace of compassion and empathy.
You must see the labeling of College Professors and turning of a horde mob against them who harass their employers as some how justified. You ignore a lot to say the good things you do about CK. Ostrich is your animal spirit.
He was not a bad man that is a lie
I see the devil is working hard on your soul. Perhaps you need to take a break and pray very hard not only about how you feel about what you say and how others perceive that. I’m praying for you.
He definitely was a martyr but the church must see some miracles by him before they can canonize him. I do believe he is a saint. I definitely believe he was greeted by Jesus Who grabbed and hugged him and said “well done faithful servant!” Ask of him for intercession for miracles and get his beatification started. New saints are very powerful. I think we should ask intercession for help in bringing his ideas to fruition, ending abortion, ending transgenderism, ending targeting our children for example but if you are sick if you ask him to intercede with Jesus for you I bet your prayers will be answered.
I’m not a catholic so I don’t know and I hope you can inform me. I thought I read if they are a martyr then a miracle was not required, but only if they were not a martyr?
amen! and for any organization with the word “catholic” attached to it to come out with this crap is shameful.
Colleen,
You do not know what you have not studied. Quite clearly, you fail to have any real experience with what Charlie even said, and you are parroting the ignorant falsehood spread by others, nor are you aware of what constitutes a Martyr who dies in whole or in part proclaiming the name and good news of Jesus. First of all, by church doctrine, even noted sinners like Fr. Andrew Wouters, who died refusing to denounce Jesus and the Holy Catholic church, can become a martyr for the faith and a saint. Charlie always focused on love for Jesus first, then he taught truth, morally and politically, and the leftists killed him for it. Push back your ignorance based on what the leftists claimed about Charlie Kirk and learn what he was really about – Jesus first, family second, the defense of the Republic of the United States of America via discourse and engagement third. Charlie, while always acknowledging that he was a sinner, has a story worthy of consideration based on his actions if Fr. Wouters is a Saint. https://nowthatimcatholic.com/2020/07/09/father-andrew-wouters-fornicator-i-always-was-heretic-i-never-was/
Spot on Brother.
Interesting? You actually had some good thoughts until you had to play the race card? What’s him being white have to do with the truth. My guess is you Vote Democrat even though they support abortion and then claim to be Catholic? Am I wrong? How is it we say we want dialog in society, but as soon as some one does that they are a fascist. A racist and not a Christian? Here a again We only want the truth when it fits are narrative. How do you question the mans Christian relationship with God? Let me ask you a question, Do you honor the Sabbath. His family did! dig a little deeper in what this man stood for other than what the media wants you to believe, and don’t hate a.person because they supported Trump. After all we put up with 12 years of chaos in the last two presidents. This is where that hate was started.
What a ridiculous comment. Must be a bot.
I disagree with you! Charlie Kirk was a good man, a family man who loved God! Charlie’s killing is a tragedy! I pray for the repose of Charlie’s soul and I pray for his precious wife and children and his mother… they all love him so much! Dear Jesus please comfort them and bring the Sanctity of ALL HUMAN LIFE BACK TO AMERICA!!! Joana
Wow! The hatred you give. May God forgive you and the blasphemy that spews from your tongue.
And what are your qualifications to determine these accusations? Is it because you’re a member of the violent, hate-filled, evil left?
I agree wholeheartedly and am ashamed that this Catholic magazine editorial staff would allow this article. Until today I had never heard of this young man. I am sorry for his family and condemn violence at all levels. But his published views appear to be divisive and not aligned with the teachings of Jesus and the Catholic faith as I understand it. He basked in the political realm under the disguise of religion. It’s amazing to me that he would be known for fighting for the freedoms outlined in the constitution, but only if you agreed with his interpretation. The Catholic church has enough to deal with by refuting negatives from it’s historical past while leading and admonishing us to be more Christ-like. It doesn’t need to add another negative to the conversation of a political, religious separatist as a model of Christian principles. I definitely won’t be donating to this organization and will tell others not to either.
You are a liar. Period.
AGREED!
He did NOT spread Christ’s word.
You are wrong Maria. He died a martyrs death and left behind a wife and 2 young children whom he loved dearly. He converted liberal college campuses into thriving campuses of patriots who love God, Family and Country. Students who now debate and discuss rather than blindly accept what is shoved down their throats. He’s turned the tide of evil, and great good is thriving due to his life and work. How much of YOUR blood has been shed to save our country and citizens? How many lost souls have you brought back to the fold?
That’s what I thought…..
You know nothing about the good works of Charlie Kirk. Shame on you.
One can only thank God that Charlie’s views oppose those who have lost the true faith. Imagine speaking to these crowds of youth, hungry for the truth, that Synodality is the way to go! Or that putting a Pachamama on an altar and calling it the Virgin Mary would not be an absolute insult to Christ and all His true believers. Leave the religious squibbling behind and in the basic premises of the Holy Bible “go out and teach all nations.” Charlie did this. He was close to accepting the Catholic faith. Who knows, if he had a little more time? But God who sees all things and reads EVERY heart, knew Charlie through and through. Charlie was on a mission to restore Christ to His rightful place in the hearts of all men because he KNEW how good that would be for our country. We were built on biblical laws and our system of government, unlike any other on the planet, could ONLY work if the citizens were Godly people. That is why there is this big push, from the evil people who have infiltrated our country, to make our children transgender, LGBTQ+, to make our military a cesspool of these mental illnesses and to break our virtue and values by demanding we support mental illness alongside those who are whole and well as if all were “equal” in the eyes of God and man. IF our enemies succeed in making us a country void of faith and virtue, they will win and America will no longer exist. They are close to their objective. The only thing standing between them and the full destruction of our country are the die hard Patriots who will pray, work and protect our country to their last breath, like Charlie did.
May God bless you Charlie, and your beautiful family. And May God bless and protect America,
Hello Colleen,
This article is not nearly as upsetting as your commentary. First off, is everything you do a mirror of the sitting pope? Do you check in with him daily to get your talking points?
Do you read Sacred Scripture at all? Charlie did every morning. He LIVED what he READ and the fruits are there. He converted huge crowds from the most liberal college campuses on the planet back to God, Family, Country and sanity. He had a bit of an in-your-face style, but that was Charlie. The crowds grew and they loved it. You say he did not live as Jesus did. Did you miss the story of Jesus turning over the tables of the money changers in the temple? The time he made a whip out of cords and drove the animals for sale out of the courtyard of the temple? Jesus was no milquetoast. And Charlie never went that far…He did not spew hate, although many women THINK he did because he absolutely protected the child in the womb even in the case of rape. He did not support the frankenstein surgeries pushed on children to help them pretend they are another sex (a “sex change” cannot be done at all regardless of what anyone says). He did not support the weakening of the fabric of the lives of Americans whereby we were forced to accept same sex unions. (You can sin in your bedroom, just don’t bring it out in the public square). Charlie was also a “white, America Christian” so I’m not sure why you railed on him for that…maybe watch a few of his videos to get to know him first. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
We will leave the canonization question to God. God would have to grant through Charlie’s intercession, 2 great miracles to prove his sanctity, unless the Church decides again, as they did with John XXIII, to skip that part. IF God grants the miracles, there is nothing more anyone can say. As far as the fact he is NOT Catholic, allow me to point you towards the 55 Jewish children we call the “Holy Innocents.” They were Jewish babies slain by Herod when he was looking to slay Jesus. Not even Christian, but celebrated every Christmas Season in the Catholic Church as the Holy Martyrs.
In closing, Charlie was a good man, EVERYONE including his enemies (liberal leaders that he debated) had great respect for him and are shedding rivers of tears with the rest of us. If you had known him, I mean REALLY knew him, not through some liberal website, but as a person, you would know that too.
May God give you the grace of clarity and discernment, because the Jesus you claim to follow said we will be judged AS WE JUDGE OTHERS. Food for thought.
Many people thought what Jesus spoke of was rhetoric and divisive. It may be rhetoric and divisive to you and not to others.
He did not do those things. If people hated his words, that’s on them. Charlied did indeed follow Christ. May I remind you that people in Christ’s times found Christ’s words divisive. Speaking truth is often divisive but that doesn’t mean truth stokes the fires of hate.
That is not true. If people hated his words, that’s on them. Charlied did indeed follow Christ. May I remind you that people in Christ’s times found Christ’s words divisive. Speaking truth is often divisive but that doesn’t mean truth stokes the fires of hate.
That is so not true. Charlie spoke the truth and sometime people can’t take that. My I remind you that many in Christ’s time thought His words were divisive.
I think it’s too early to discuss this man’s candidacy for sainthood. For that, we must dig deeper, and with greater focus on his total life relative to what Jesus stands for. And, there is a requirement that he be linked to a verified miracle. This is an issue for the Catholic Church. Not for the media, or public at large.
Amen, Janet Slepski! Let’s do! Thank you for your great insights. God Bless you. ✝️
What happened is really tragic; no one should be assassinated for their beliefs, whether we agree with them or not. In America, we have the First Amendment, which gives us the freedom of speech, and that’s a key part of our society. But this guy wasn’t Catholic, and his platform was all about division instead of unity. The author of this article should be ashamed and I will pray that Jesus shows them the way.
God Bless
Hey Kamakani,
Charlie was not Catholic, nor opposed to the Catholic Church, but is that the new litmus test to be a good person? How many folks have quoted that same sentiment here? I am stunned!
I would LOVE to hear what part of Charlie’s platform was about division. He had a VISION of a fruitful, strong America with strong large loving families and peace and prosperity on earth. He dubunked the wild claims that we can take a male child and make it into a female child and the child will thrive. Its not even possible! Your DNA will deny this every time. He supported a man marry and support his wife and raise a large and beautiful family. We are BELOW replacement rate in the Untied States right now. That means if we do not turn the tide and produce big families soon, in a generation or two, America could become a ghost town.
I do not believe the author of this article needs to be ashamed of anything. WE need to be ashamed for our accepting such goofy, blind ideas from the enemies within, while not questioning ANYTHING. We are being led off a cliff by those in the liberal legacy media. Why? Perhaps it has to do with many of them receiving checks in their bank accounts from Communist China. Congress is already investigating. Watch and see what comes out.
If I recall correctly, the Catechism does state that non-Catholics can be canonized. And from what I’ve heard and seen, it seems as if he was on the verge of converting… attending Mass, saying rosaries with his Catholic wife, meeting with Bishop Barron.
NO, he was a negative person. He was a nut job.
Keith, obviously, you are just repeating leftist, hateful talking points, created just because he truthfully points out fallacies in their reasoning and conclusions regarding God, babies, and the Constitutional Republic that is the United States of America. Not once in the hundreds of hours of videos that he has published has he been anything other than reasoned, respectful, a willing listener, and very patient with those who disagree with his opinions, facts, and central truth. You must not have watched more than a few seconds of manipulated video, or you have actually watched none with the statement you just made. His abiding love for and joy in our creator, his family, and this country were obvious to all who really paid attention to his ministry and message.
Based on..????? Facts or a hunch?
First of all, was he even Catholic? If not, then this article is irrelevant.
Secondly, as tragic as it is that he was assassinated, we still don’t know the motive, but it seems more likely that he was killed for his political beliefs, not for the Catholic Faith, therefore, canonization is not possible.
No, by definition, according to St. Paul, all humans are called to be Saints, and all who make it to heaven are Saints. The Canonization process of the Church is primarily for Saints (who may or may not be martyrs) to be acknowledged as such by the Church. Martyrs who are killed because they teach the good news of Jesus’ resurrection and defend the faith bypass most of the process. For a non-catholic to be declared a Saint, they would have to be submitted by their Christian denomination to be considered. So, for someone who was martyred because of their defense of Christ and Christian teaching, the process would be simplified, and not necessarily impossible. In official Church procedures, there are three steps to sainthood: a candidate becomes “Venerable,” then “Blessed” and then “Saint.” Venerable is the title given to a deceased person recognized formally by the pope as having lived a heroically virtuous life or offered their life. To be beatified and recognized as a Blessed, one miracle acquired through the candidate’s intercession is required in addition to recognition of heroic virtue or offering of life. Canonization requires a second miracle after beatification. The pope may waive these requirements. A miracle is not required prior to a martyr’s beatification, but one is required before canonization. The requirement for a miracle is not for the person’s life prior to their death; it is tied to their intercession after their death. Here is a section from the Catechism specifically covering martyrdom. https://www.usccb.org/sites/default/files/flipbooks/catechism/594/
Was he a Catholic? Seri told me he was a Baptist. Of course, Baptists can be saints, too.
Don’t trust your AI guide!
Charlie was evangelical. NOW he is Catholic.
And what are your qualifications to determine these accusations? Is it because you’re a member of the violent, hate-filled, evil left?
Well, I’m as sorry as I can be that this happen to him and his family and I hope that the person or persons that did this get the punishment that’s due them. However (from what I’ve seen and heard) his ideas of how Jesus said to live and my ideas of how Jesus said to live, don’t exactly align, so with that said I will just keep praying my Rosary and leave the rest in the capable hands of Jesus. May God have mercy on our country! I’m not sure when we turned on each other. THAT hurts my heart….sigh
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing” ~ Edmund Burke
Charlie was not in that class. He was doing everything he could think of to bring our country back to God and sanity. There is no way he will please everyone, especially the arm-chair umpires of the virtue police who decide what actions constitute “Christian behavior” according to their personal views, and what does not. There is a lot of debate on this vilifying Charlie as not “doing it right” for about as many reasons as there are people in this country. But he did it. And he did what WE would not be comfortable doing. And it worked. He has turned the youth in great numbers back to God, family and country. And he did it by going into the mouth of the dragon itself, our higher education institutions which have become incubators for communism, facism, nazism, atheism, and all things perverse and hateful to this country. And he won. So they silenced him. More hearts are rising and picking up Charlie’s banner. That was the shot heard round the world. I truly believe the youth he touched and nurtured in what real American ideals are, will rise and make the enemies of this country wish they had never recruited that young man to pull that fatal trigger.
What happened to Charlie was horrific and another sign of our sad, confusing times. As the man posted above we still do not know the motive of this heinous crime. Make no mistake though, this man spewed hate. It baffles me when people who are supposedly Christians do not see the value in ALL human life, not just the unborn.
He did not life a life of spiritual and corporal works of mercy. He spread misinformation not only in regards to COVID but the presidential election as well. Individuals such as him and Donal Trump are today’s heretics. Wolves dressed in sheep clothing. Luring us and feeding the darkness allowing evil to grow in families, communities, and throughout the world. After all, what ‘good’ Catholic or Christian would seek revenge on others and actually say that’s what they were doing on national TV ?
Stay vigilant against the snares of the devil. Pray hard and live virtuously. Ask for Gods divine intervention so we may all come together in harmony, love, empathy, and openness to see the good in others.
May we become a country of justice and rights for all and love each other as God commanded. Prayers for Charlie and his family. May he rest in peace.
I remember watching the 2020 returns on election night. I clearly remember, and took photos, of Trump’s numbers going backwards while Biden’s numbers went up. Did anyone else pay attention and see that too? Then the county by county reports of mishandling of ballots, outright ballot fraud, trucks arriving in the middle of the night stuffed with mail in ballots from where? No one knew. Watch the documentary “2000 Mules.” There you will watch voter fraud live and provable.
Using your intellect, ask yourself, if a man stayed locked in his basement, and on the rare instance when he actually came out to speak publicly, he could only muster perhaps 20 people to attend his press conferences, campaign stops, and the like; and you compare this to his running mate who commanded campaign stops of 35,000 – 45,000 people, even in the rain!….and most of those folks went home and voted for Biden? REALLY? Run the statistics on that. It makes no sense.
What do we do with all the people in jail for voter fraud? In Italy a programmer testified he received the real time voting information from the US on election night and changed numbers (Down on Trump, up on Biden) then sent back the numbers to the US. He is in jail. It is a well known fact that the method of moving the voting totals out of the country was through the Vatican satellite. Biden won with more votes than ANY PRESIDENT IN HISTORY….really? Then where were his supporters when he came out to make public appearances? Why did no one seem to care, yet the whole country allegedly voted for him? Use your reasoning. Much there to be explored. One day we will all know HOW CLOSE we came to losing our beloved country and we are still not out of the woods yet. Please America, wake up.
I do not believe in assassination, taking another life is this manner wrong. I will remember Charlie Rich and his family in my prayers.
Charlie Rich was a divisive, outspoken man. I disagree with most of his philosophy, but, I defend his right to say it. He paid a price from a fire arm that took his life. Mr. Rich believed in the right of people to bear arms, as do I. However, his fellow Right Wing thinkers refuse to put reasonable restrictions on their use. In conclusion, the Catholic online news does not represent in my opinion, the views of Jesus Christ or the Catholic Church. I am a Catholic.
Criminals will ALWAYS have guns. You can ONLY take them away from law abiding citizens. That happened in Australia and look what happened to them!
In every scenario China has played out in attacking us, the fact remains that Americans are more armed then any other country. They will lose and they know it! The people of every town in America would launch their own offensive against foreign troops on our soil and they would not survive it. They can’t fight an entire well-armed populace. Thus the great desire Democrats have of taking the guns away from law abiding citizens and the great resistance from Patriots.
Arguably we have MUCH more to protect and fight for than any other country! If we give up our guns, the criminals will still have theirs! Corrupt governments will still have THEIRS! The enemies of America will swoop in. The American dream dies unless Americans stand their ground in God and protect themselves, their families and their freedom.
Our Founding Fathers lost their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor building the America we enjoy today. Unfortunately, the fox has been watching the hen house for a while now, and many of us think the foxes are our friends. America needs to wake up. We barely survived the communist rule that was pushed onto America under the last administration. The thought police and speech police were really terrifying even the average American. We wondered if we would make it out of this alive with a country still! By God’s grace President Trump won re-election and peace was restored. He went after the thought police and pushed back against gun violence, violations of Freedom of Speech, DEI and all its inherent failures, and all the deeply seated wickedness that had crept into our dear land. He has rooted it out with his bare hands and has stood the test (as Charlie Kirk has done too) of being maligned by the enemies of this country who wish to deliver America as the golden prize she is to the highest bidder.
May God bless and protect those who are in the trenches every day defending, protecting and raising up our beloved America.
I did not ever hear the name of Charlie Kirk before his announced assassination. I do not support violence. I felt the grief surrounding this tragic event. I thanked God for his life. Prayed for his family. So heavy laden with the violence in our culture. In our nation. In our world.
Then I began to read about CK’s message. Some say it was the rhetoric of white supremacy, which I do not support. As a woman in her 70th year of life, chronic illness, poverty life due to inability to be gainfully employed (yes, some of us are that disabled), I try to do what little I can to make this a better world.
What I know for sure is that verbal violence is harmful. I understand that CK used this common “conservative maga christian” behavior. There is nothing christian about verbal violence. In Matthew 5:22 Jesus warns against this. Words CAN kill. Can kill spirit. Can kill reputations. Can kill relationships. In Matthew 25:40 Jesus states whatever we do to the “least” we do to God. What are the two most important commandments according to Jesus?
I grew up with intense bullying and verbal violence from two older brothers. My good Catholic parents had 10 live births between 1953-1970. You could say they were busy.
They did not know what they did not know. But I carried this, not by choice, because I have been working my whole life to overcome. I was rescued by God through church at age 24. became 100% committed to our Lord. Much, much healing and forgiveness, positive perspective work, health building, and such. Yet there was not reconciliation language for our family. No one ever apologized. My dad admitted at one point a physical violent act when I was a teen. Long story.
We must address verbal violence. Full stop.
Kathleen, this might be of interest to you.
Since about 2010, we’ve seen two parallel trends: a surge in terms like racism, fascism, supremacy in media; Algorithms have learned what triggers outrage, and once they detect your emotional weak point, they don’t stop — they amplify, repeat, and normalize.
Of course you’re seeing words to describe Charlie Kirk like those you mentioned above. If you have a moment, watch a few videos of Charlie Kirk and actually get to know why he was loved by so many. It sounds like you are a liberal and there’s nothing wrong with that but do your own research versus relying on the news or in print.
Some who preaches hate should not be called a martyr. Hate goes directly agains the teachings of Jesus. A person who encourages violence against people who disagrees with them, who the person believes are abominations because of who they love, whose gender does not match the body they are born into, who don’t possess the right color skin, because they have empathy and compassion for others, or because they are poor are not following Jesus’s teachings of love and peace. If all people are made in God’s image then how how can any of them be an abomination because of who they love or their gender identity: this is the image of God.
Martyrs are people who speak of peace. They are people who preach Jesus’s teachings. They have compassion and empathy for who are treated unkindly by the world. None of these things are what Charlie Kirk talked about. He was no martyr.
I was heartbroken to hear the news of what happened to Charlie Kirk. Although I align with his religious beliefs, he should not be called a martyr and definitely not canonized as a saint by the Catholic church! Firstly, Charlie was not killed because he preached about Jesus, he was likely killed because of his political views and the hatred he spewed along side of his preaching. Secondly, if men like Dietrich Bonhoeffer was not declared a saint by the Catholic church then why should a man who, while preaching love of Jesus, simultaneously demonstrated haughty arrogance, disrespect and ill will toward others be? (and not a Catholic!)
You claim one thing, but say another. Heresy.
I read through half the comments here and I just had to stop. The devil is hard at work I can see. The devil and his minions will do everything they can to divide and to cause chaos and misery in all of mankind.
Charlie Kirk was a sinner as much as any of us, but everything he stated was backed by what Jesus had said. He lived the best life he could and spread the word of Jesus Christ as he spoke. I am so sick of people making shit up and bending the truth. If you’re going to sit here and use his words , “Charlie’s”, make sure that you use everything instead of taking it out of context, and omitting the entire statement, like all of you do. It’s a perversion of the truth and the devil’s work.
I really don’t know what to say anymore. I used to feel that there was a special place in hell for everybody that sat here ignored everything that was going on around them and was blind to everything that was happening in front of them.
Now I just feel sorry and I just wish that people would wake up.
There’s right and wrong. And people know what that is. And ignoring that on purpose calling it social justice is just moronic.
No matter what and no matter what you believe there is going to be a reckoning at the end of our lives. I hope people realize this before it’s too late.
Follow. The teachings of Jesus, this is what Charlie Kirk did. When Jesus walked the earth he too made lots of controversy. Go back and read the Bible. Yes he should be Canonized . And made a Saint. ❤️🙏
