Wake Up, Catholic America: We’re Not Holy – We’re Hypocrites!

Genesis 3:1-6 Adam and Eve. The original sin.

Genesis 3:1-6 Adam and Eve. The original sin.

Let’s stop pretending.

Let’s stop hiding behind rosaries, novenas, and holy water while living like pagans. Let’s stop showing up to Sunday Mass in clean clothes with filthy hearts. Catholics in America are in crisis, and it’s not because of persecution or politics. No – it’s because of us.

We’ve traded in our crucifixes for convenience. We scroll through pornography while our Bible collects dust. We obsess over pharmaceuticals instead of prayer. We speak about love, but spit out gossip, hatred, and division with the same tongue we use to say the ‘Our Father’.

It’s time to say it plainly: Catholic America is rotting from the inside out.

The Mirror Doesn’t Lie

You want the truth? Here’s the truth:

  • Porn addiction is ravaging Catholic men, teenage boys, and even women.
  • Sexual immorality is normalized. Affairs, cheating, emotional infidelity—behind closed doors, it’s rampant.
  • Overmedication is the new sacrament. We numb our minds with pills instead of renewing them with the Word.
  • Lying is routine. To our spouses, to our priests, to ourselves.
  • Hatred runs deep—towards other races, political parties, our neighbors.

We are living like atheists, not disciples. We say we believe in Jesus, but live like He’s just a Sunday morning hobby.

This Is Not What Christ Died For

Jesus didn’t hang naked on a cross, whipped, bleeding, suffocating – so we could browse Tinder and onlyfans. He didn’t rise from the dead so we could rise each morning with hangovers, resentment, and lust.

We’re called to be saints, not sinners with excuses.

The early Church converted empires. Martyrs died in arenas. Saints gave up wealth, fame, even their lives to follow Christ. And we can’t even give up porn, pills, or gossip? Pathetic.

We Are Losing the Battle

And here’s the worst part: our children are watching.

They see our hypocrisy. They see us say one thing and do another. That’s why they’re walking away from the Church. That’s why vocations are dying. That’s why the next generation doesn’t believe we believe what we claim to believe.

We are failing them.

We’ve Been Lukewarm Long Enough

Revelation 3:16 couldn’t be more direct:
“Because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I will spit you out of My mouth.”

Catholics in America have been lukewarm for too long. We fear offending others more than offending God. We care more about comfort than conversion.

This is not just a personal problem. It’s a cultural collapse. If Catholics – 70 million of us in the U.S. – actually lived like Catholics, America would look different.

But we don’t. Because we’re too busy trying to be liked instead of holy.

What’s the Solution?

It’s time to stop talking and start repenting. Not fake repentance. Not a mumbled “I’m sorry” while checking our phones. Real repentance that brings change.

Here’s where we start:

  1. Go to Confession – Drop the shame, drop the pride. Make a full, honest confession. Clean your soul.
  2. Cut the Rot – Block the porn. Burn the magazines. Break up with the person you’re cheating with. Stop flirting with sin.
  3. Open the Bible – Read it daily. Not when you’re bored. Not when you feel spiritual. Feed your soul.
  4. Pray like your soul depends on it – Because it does. Pray for your spouse. Pray for your children. Pray for the strength to change.
  5. Lead your family – Be the priest of your home. Teach the faith. Live the faith. Die for the faith if you have to.

Let’s Be Clear

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being real. It’s about looking in the mirror, falling to your knees, and admitting what we’ve become – and deciding never to go back.

The Catholic Church doesn’t need more soft, polite, lukewarm believers. It needs warriors. Saints. Martyrs. Men and women who are fed up with fake faith and ready to burn with the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Because if we don’t change, we will lose everything. Our families. Our faith. Our future.

And make no mistake – God will not be mocked.

Catholic America, this is your wake-up call.
Now get off your knees in shame and get on them in prayer.
The world is watching. Your kids are watching.
God is watching.

  1. Wow your saying it like it is:) I agree it’s time for Catholics to be proud to be Catholic and not fall victim to pressure to accept what is not Catholic. God bless all with many blessings.

  3. Let’s talk about the dangerous cult that’s normalizing greed, lust, deception and hatred among residents of the United States. The words and actions of the current President, his associates and his whole administration are sinful, reprehensible and illegal. We must stand strong with Pope Leo to condemn bigotry, violence and all the other evils he’s visiting on all of us and pray his cult followers will awaken to see the light. Blessed Be.

  4. “When Pope Leo commands Catholics and the world to welcome immigration without the conversation of the breaking of federal laws and state laws that have turned border states upside down riddled with violence, crime, exploiting our system to serve rightful citizens than illegal ones with more protection than American born citizens.”

A correction: exploiting our system to serve illegal ones than rightful citizens who work hard and honestly to be here, not being given handouts and welfare
