A new Catholic travel series that invites viewers to encounter God through art and culture has made an early debut inside Vatican City. The first episode of “Seeking Beauty,” hosted by Catholic actor and director David Henrie, was screened Dec. 15 at the Vatican’s movie theater, marking a significant moment for the EWTN Studios production, according to Catholic News Agency.
Speaking after the premiere, Henrie reflected on the significance of launching the series where it began. “It’s a blessing to be able to play the show at the Vatican, which is where we [filmed] our first episode,” he said, adding that the experience felt like “a full-circle moment,” according to EWTN News. The episode focuses on Vatican City, featuring conversations with experts on sacred art, architecture, and the living traditions of the Church.

Executive producer Edmundo Reyes, who conceived the idea for the series, described the Vatican screening as deeply meaningful. “We can’t wait for people to see it,” he said, calling the project “a great, great evangelization tool,” according to EWTN News. Reyes explained that the show grew out of a desire to share stories of faith and beauty that often go untold, especially through the lens of art and culture.
During a post-screening discussion, Reyes emphasized that the series goes beyond sightseeing. He said the goal is not simply to highlight destinations, but to help viewers rediscover how God communicates through beauty, noting that it is about “God speaking to us through beauty,” rather than offering a typical travel checklist, according to Catholic News Agency.
EWTN Studios President Peter Gagnon also highlighted the spiritual breadth of the project, saying that “each episode is very unique” and has the potential to move viewers in different ways, according to the same source. Season one includes visits to Rome, Milan, Venice, Florence, and Subiaco, a town closely associated with St. Benedict. A second season, filmed in Spain, has already wrapped production.
Henrie underscored the accessible nature of the show, describing it as an easy-to-watch travel series rather than an academic lesson. “You’re not sitting down for a history lesson; it’s a travel show,” he said, explaining that its relaxed style allows faith to be presented gently. “It’s easy consumption, but there’s some medicine under all the sugar,” he added, according to EWTN News. “Seeking Beauty” will debut for the wider public on EWTN’s free streaming platform, EWTN+, on Jan. 19, 2026.
