The Sisters of Life have taken a bold step forward in their mission to protect and cherish human life by launching a new online resource called “Vis. This initiative offers women facing crisis pregnancies spiritual guidance, emotional accompaniment, and practical resources.

“As Sisters of Life, we care about you, the whole you — body, mind, and soul,” the Sisters explain on their website. “That’s why we offer a holistic approach to pregnancy, because we know that before being a medical issue, it’s a spiritual issue — it’s an issue of the heart,” according to LifeSiteNews.

The name of the site, Vis — meaning “force” or “power” in Latin — reflects its mission to empower women to embrace life, even in the face of difficult circumstances. The Sisters affirm, “No woman should be left alone, used, or coerced. The opposite of love isn’t hate, but use. Every woman deserves to be listened to, loved, and supported towards full life-flourishing” (LifeSiteNews).

Beyond supporting expectant mothers, the Sisters offer care for women seeking healing after abortion. “Serving pregnant women and women who have experienced abortion, we offer free, confidential, and compassionate spiritual and emotional accompaniment, practical pregnancy support, a network of resources, and opportunities for healing. Nobody is meant to walk alone. We’re here for you. We’re all sisters, here,” they said (LifeSiteNews).

One woman who turned to the Sisters for help shared, “After meeting with the Sisters, I was convinced they would not leave me, and they would be by my side every step of the way. I was relieved to find this support because I knew deep down, even from the very beginning, that abortion was not the answer” (LifeSiteNews).

Pro-life leaders have praised the new website. Jack Fonseca of Campaign Life Coalition called it “a powerful force in the movement,” noting that its clear, compassionate tone “really speaks to the deep fears, uncertainty and dreams of women who may find themselves in a crisis pregnancy” (LifeSiteNews).

This initiative reminds the Catholic faithful of our call to be a refuge for life, offering mercy, prayer, and practical assistance to women in need. As Fonseca put it, “the key to changing the world, is changing one heart at a time.”
