A disturbing undercover video released by the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) and first reported by LifeSiteNews and Live Action exposes the chilling attitudes of Virginia abortionist Jessica “Lou” Rubino. Filmed at a 2025 Repro Rising gala, the footage reveals not only Rubino’s casual approach to abortion, but her open mockery of the humanity of the unborn.
In the video, Rubino candidly explains why she chose her line of work: “It’s easy… technically not really that challenging,” she says. Her clinic, Meadow Reproductive Health, also offers so-called “gender-affirming care,” which she classifies as “family medicine,” but she admits that “most of my time” is spent on abortions. This choice, she claims, allows her to “make someone’s day” or even “save their life”—a claim deeply at odds with the reality that abortion ends an innocent human life.
Rubino contrasts the perceived simplicity of abortion with the challenges of real medicine: “I’m gonna be able to make you not pregnant if you want,” she says, boasting that “people come to see me [and] they end up feeling really good.” But as LifeSiteNews notes, such claims are “belied by countless cases of abortion regret.”
The most unsettling part of the video comes when Rubino describes the remains of aborted children: “Most of our patients are going to be under 12 weeks… that’s when it’s really quite small in the sac.” She notes that “once you get to like 10-12 weeks, it’s like see-through… but you can start to make out little hands and little feet.”
Despite the visible humanity of the unborn, Rubino dismisses the dignity of these children. When some patients ask to see what was removed, she claims they’re relieved by how small and undeveloped the baby appears. “When they see that fetus, they’re like, ‘Oh!’ because they’re expecting a baby because that’s what people have told them for all their lives,” she says. “But when they see like, ‘Oh no, that really does look like something that’s not done forming… and I was trying to put its rights above mine!’”
This line underscores a tragic inversion of moral reasoning. Rather than seeing the unborn child’s vulnerability as a call for protection, Rubino presents it as a justification for denying rights altogether.
Such statements stand in direct contradiction to the Catholic understanding of human dignity. As the Church teaches, life begins at conception and must be protected from that moment forward. LifeSiteNews reminds readers that “it is a settled biological fact that the life of an individual human being, genetically complete and distinct from his or her parents, begins at fertilization.”
Rubino also laments leaving Texas, where a 24-hour waiting period slowed her work, preferring Virginia’s more permissive laws, where she can perform abortions “in an hour, like same day.”
This latest video draws comparisons to the explosive series of undercover investigations by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), which in 2015 exposed Planned Parenthood’s potential involvement in profiting from fetal tissue, altering procedures for better samples, and possibly committing partial-birth abortions. Despite mounting evidence, LifeSiteNews reports that “neither the Obama nor the first Trump administrations took action” on those allegations.
Now, with renewed scrutiny and a new administration, there remains a narrow legal window for justice. While federal crimes committed before 2015 are outside the statute of limitations, LifeSiteNews notes that “evidence has continued to emerge pointing to ongoing relationships between the abortion giant and tissue researchers,” possibly opening the door for new investigations.
This video is more than just disturbing—it’s a wake-up call. For Catholics, it is a stark reminder of why the Church must continue to be a voice for the voiceless. The unborn are not “something not done forming.” They are human beings, made in the image of God, and deserving of our protection.
